On the same day they shall reconsecrate their headsġ2and rededicate themselves to the L ORD for the period of their dedication, bringing a yearling lamb as a reparation offering. c 7Not even for their father or mother, sister or brother, should they defile themselves, when these die, since their heads bear their dedication to God.ĨAs long as they are nazirites they are holy to the L ORD.ĩIf someone dies very suddenly in their presence, defiling their dedicated heads, they shall shave their heads on the day of their purification, that is, on the seventh day.ġ0On the eighth day they shall bring two turtledoves or two pigeons to the priest at the entrance of the tent of meeting.ġ1The priest shall offer up the one as a purification offering and the other as a burnt offering, thus making atonement for them for the sin they committed with respect to the corpse. b Until the period of their dedication to the L ORD is over, they shall be holy, letting the hair of their heads grow freely.ĦAs long as they are dedicated to the L ORD, they shall not come near a dead person. 1The L ORD said to Moses:ĢSpeak to the Israelites and tell them: When men or women solemnly take the nazirite * vow to dedicate themselves to the L ORD,ģthey shall abstain from wine and strong drink a they may neither drink wine vinegar, other vinegar, or any kind of grape juice, nor eat either fresh or dried grapes.ĤAs long as they are nazirites they shall not eat anything of the produce of the grapevine not even the seeds or the skins.ĥWhile they are under the nazirite vow, no razor shall touch their hair. Go out in joy unspeakable (Isaiah 55:12)īe led in peace that transcends understanding (Philippians 4:7)Īnd always count on God.Laws Concerning Nazirites. Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (NIV) Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” (NIV) Numbers 6: 24 -26 “The LORD bless you and keep you The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.” (NKJV) The final part of this prayer is from the following verses : The chorus goes like this:Īnd just enough strength to live for today The second part of this prayer is inspired by one of my favorite songs, called Counting on God, (i.e. The Joy of the Lord will ever be our strength. ![]() Mountains will sing, Hills will sing, Trees will clap… We will always go out in unspeakable joy Joy and peace that passes all understanding. And because of the joy and the God that is seen in us, even things, people, situations that we thought could never be moved, will rejoice, and clap their hands! Amen ( eg who ever knew a tree could clap? Or mountains could sing?). What this verse speaks to me is that everything and everyone that comes before us will see the joy of the Lord in us. And even the trees of the field will join us in clapping their hands. We will go out in joy, and God will lead us forth in peace – And can you imagine mountains and hills bursting into song before us?
